Rebecca Smith, MA, LPC-S

Rebecca graduated with Honors from Southwest Texas State University with a major in Psychology and minor in Sociology. After her Bachelor's, Rebecca moved to Huntsville and graduated with Honors from Sam Houston State University with a Masters of Arts in Counseling. Immediately following her Master's program, Rebecca attended the PhD program for Counseling. Work experience includes Nonprofit MHMRA facilities in Montgomery County, Harris County, Liberty County, and Walker County. Working for the MHMRAs provided opportunities for Rebecca to work with diverse populations within various programs for adults and children. She also worked in the Harris County Jail as a supervisor for the mental health Case Managers. Rebecca has been working with children since 1995 and has been in the mental health field since 2003. She began her private practice in 2006 and is the founder of the Counseling Center of Montgomery County. Rebecca specializes in working with children and teens, learning disabilities, couples, and high conflict situations. Rebecca continues refining her skills and techniques through research and attending conferences. She also enjoys facilitating workshops. In the office, you might run in to her little helper, Beau - She is a 12 lb Rat Terrier that is trained and certified for animal assisted therapy. Larry Bailey, MA, LPC
Larry Bailey is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). He received a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Sam Houston State University, and a Graduate Diploma in Organization Behavior from Swinburne University of Technology in Australia. He is also a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist. He has worked as an Associate Clinical Director at a residential treatment center, clinician in private practice, and EAP provider. Larry has experience in multicultural settings having lived and worked in the Middle East for 4 ½ years. Larry has experience with individual, family, and group therapy and has worked with children, adolescents, and adults. Larry’s therapeutic orientation varies according to the presenting problem and the style that fits best for the client. For example, short-term work would likely involve Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Clients would be assisted in identifying clear attainable goals for personal change and empirically validated methods would be used to help achieve these goals. Longer-term therapy may involve more insight-based work with a Schema Therapy approach. Larry is a member of the American Counseling Association, Texas Counseling Association, International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors, and Specialist in Group Work. Contact Larry
Nicole Fuhrmann, MS, LPC
Nicole joined CCMC in August 2012.
Nicole graduated with a Masters of Science with Honors from University of Houston-Clear Lake. Nicole received her undergraduate degree from University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and minor in Sociology. Nicole decided to go into private practice in 2012 with Counseling Center of Montgomery County with previous experience of being an Assistant Clinical Director at a Partial Hospital Program. She has experience with diverse populations. She has worked with teenagers in residential treatment facilities, Autistic Children with Applied Behavioral Analysis techniques, adults with Chronic Mental Illness, Depression, Anxiety, Substance Abuse/Dependency, skills training with children and families. She has experience working individually and in a group setting with these populations. With gained experience throughout the years from Residential Treatment Facilities, Community Based case management and skills training at MHMRA, group and individual psychotherapy at Partial Hospital Programs, inpatient psychiatric hospitals and working with Autistic children and their families at Texas Young Autism Project. She truly enjoys working with children, teenagers and adults who need an empathetic response in life, as we all do at times. Contact Nicole
Gloria Kessler, M. Ed., LCDC, LPC
Gloria graduated from Texas Southern University with a Master's of Education Counseling. Gloria received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Psychology & Sociology) from the University of Houston-Downtown. Gloria has lived in Montgomery County since 1983 and is very familiar with the many resources that the county has to offer. Gloria has many years of experience working within the criminal justice systems, working with domestic violence victims, adults with mental illness and with families involved in the CPS process. Gloria is currently the Director for Mental Health Courts. Gloria is also an adjunct instructor at Lonestar College in the Human Services department. Contact Gloria
Denise Brown, MA, LPC
Denise is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years experience working with individuals, couples, and families. She is a 1991 graduate of Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, LA, where she majored in Psychology, then later received her Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Denise especially enjoys working with couples who are struggling with relationship issues. She spent four years as a contract therapist for the Department of Defense Family Advocacy Program where she specialized in domestic violence treatment. Her approach to therapy is solution-focused, whereby she helps clients identify the obstacles that are keeping them “stuck” in the situations that bring them to therapy, which allows them to begin to identify and create solutions.
